Launch of Advanced GPS Tracking Devices To Govern The Future of Internet

Technology has transformed every industry across the globe and devices with in-built GPS trackers are ubiquitous. Initially, GPS trackers were used in logistics but with technological advancements, GPS trackers have become an irreplaceable part of our lives.

GPS tracking technology is ever-evolving and the future is surely filled with more interesting applications. According to AMR, the global GPS tracking devices industry is expected to showcase significant growth in the coming years.

The GPS tracking devices that we use are a result of radio signals transmitted by more than 24 satellites to provide the precise location of a target. In fact, the U.S. government has invested a colossal amount of money in improving GPS space satellites. From communication, transportation to military and fleet management, every sector across the globe has been leveraging GPS tracking technologies to improve its operations.

New launch of GPS tracking devices:

Apple has been at a forefront of developing advanced technologies. Its latest innovation, AirTags is the most-awaited product in the GPS tracking device industry. However, the official declaration of the product is yet to happen, experts believe that AirTags would be launched along with the 2020 iPhone SE model. Moreover, the airbags are said to be able to locate lost objects once the user installs the Find My app. Moreover, rumor has it that Apply would add an augmented reality-style interface to show an accurate image of the environment of the user’s lost object.

Apart from Apple, several companies have come up with interesting GPS tracking devices. For instance, Verizon, a leader in telecommunication, recently unveiled “Hyper Precise Location”, a GPS solution that provides vehicle-tracking capabilities with location accuracy on the centimeter scale. Keeping in mind the benefits of GPS tracking in transportation, PrimeTracking, has launched a plug-and-play GPS tracking device named CarSmart. This GPS tracking device would aid the driver to keep an eye on their vehicle and access all the activities of their assets at their fingertips.

Future of GPS tracking devices:

GPS tracking devices are expected to dominate the Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices. As IoMT devices are capable of informing the health of patients health remotely, the addition of GPS tracking technology would offer accurate GPS location of the patients. This way, healthcare professionals could send emergency aid even if the patient is unconscious or incapable to reach the nearest hospital.

With the increasing adoption of cloud technologies, the incidences of cybercrimes have skyrocketed. Malware such as Exodus could hack a smart device and misuse GPS data. Thus, improving the security of GPS tracking devices would be a priority for market players in the future.

GPS tracking devices are now essential for criminal investigation. However, there are ways to misdirect GPS signals by bouncing it off across multiple coordinates. Improving this limitation of GPS tracking devices would be crucial in the future.

Needless to say, the demand for GPS tracking devices will increase in the coming years. These devices are already part of our smartwatches, smartphones, and laptops. In the future, GPS tracking devices would be an instrumental part of interconnected devices, and having accurate location would become essential for maintaining the security of abundant data produced by these devices.
